Palazzo Pitti in APP is here at last with the most beautiful public collections of art, @silverware@precious objects@, jewels from the 1400s to the last century. This APP is a great way to discover the four main museums in Palazzo Pitti: the Palatine Gallery, the Medici Treasury, the Costume Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art, and go on a virtual walk in the most magnificent and charming of Italian gardens, the Boboli Gardens.
Raphael’s Madonna of the Chair, Perugino’s Mary Magdalene, Titian’s Concert, Fattori’s Self-portrait, Tommasi’s Spring, the Salzburg Treasure and the Porcelain from the Ming period are just some of the masterpieces on display in Palazzo Pitti.
The apps on the history of Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens are free. You can buy the Museums in two sets: 1. Palatine Gallery – Museum of Modern Art and 2. Costume Gallery – Medici Treasury.

The information is divided into sections:
Museums – Map – Masterpieces – Favourites
Searching through the APP is easy: use your finger to scroll down the main sections and access further information, subsections and images intuitively.
The “Info” section contains information on the tickets and opening times of the various museums in Palazzo Pitti and the “APP-Manual”.
The “Museums” section contains a short historical description of each museum.
The “Map” section (except the Costume Gallery) is interactive and lets users visualise the museums and see the works in the rooms. Click on the upper right of the map and a drop down menu will appear with a Key with the names of the rooms. Touch the numbers in the rooms and a window will open with a Description as well as Images of the room or the Works of Art on display. Technical information, a description and an image accompany each work.
The route through the rooms is chronological.
The “Masterpieces” section contains all the most important works, each accompanied by technical information, a description and an image.
You can add your favourite works to the “Favourites” section and see them at any time you like.
The texts are by Laura Baldini Giusti, Alessandro Cecchi, Caterina Chiarelli, Marco Chiarini, Maddalena De Luca Savelli, Giorgio Galletti, Marilena Mosco, Litta Medri and Carlo Sisi.
The images are from the Photographic Archive of the Soprintendenza Speciale per il Patrimonio Storico, Artistico ed Etnoantropologico e per il Polo Museale della città di Firenze; the Archive of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici, Paesaggistici, Storici, Artistici ed Etnoantropologici per le Provincie di Firenze, Pistoia e Prato; and the Sillabe Archive.
The software is developed by go-Ware.
